1. Can breast massage help with clogged ducts or engorgement?
Many sensations described as “clogged ducts” are now understood as inflammation and tissue swelling around the milk ducts, not a literal plug. Gentle, lymph-aware breast massage can help reduce pressure, improve fluid movement, and support comfort — without aggressive or painful techniques.
2. Is breast massage safe while breastfeeding?
Yes, when performed gently and with an inflammation-informed approach. Breast massage should never be painful or forceful. The goal is to support circulation, lymphatic drainage, and tissue ease — not to “push milk out.”
3. When should I seek medical care instead of massage?
